Raw Wood Veneer
The sliced leaf, no backer, sold in sequence out of a single flitch. The most flexible way to buy veneer and the least forgiving to handle.

What it is
Raw veneer is the sliced leaf with no backer on it — the material exactly as it came off the flitch. It is the most flexible way to buy veneer and the least forgiving to handle, which makes it the right choice for a shop with a press and the wrong one for almost anybody else. If you are laying up your own panels, this is what you want.
Bundles of rift white oak — raw veneer as it comes off the flitch, still in sequence.
We sell it the way it was cut: in sequence, out of a single flitch, so a run holds its match across a whole elevation. That matters more than most specifications admit. Come back for another two sheets in six weeks and you are buying a different log, and it will not match — so order the full quantity at once and we will keep the sequence intact from our floor to yours.
Every flitch is hand-graded for color, figure and yield before it goes anywhere. We grade the flare in quartered species and do not push the borderline fleck. If you are not sure a species will do what the drawing wants, ask for a sample first — veneer is a natural material and a photograph is not a reliable way to judge one.
